This is the third movie in the Disney Fairies franchise and is notable for taking place entirely away from Pixie Hollow. It follows Tinker Bell and friends who attend a summer fairy camp on the mainland. There, Tinker Bell befriends a lonely young girl who believes fairies are real, much to the chagrin and consternation of her no-nonsense scientist father. He is often too busy with his work to take much notice of his daughter, though when he does, he chides her for believing in scientifically improbabilities like fairies and magic. It is a charming story and serves as the first time, allegedly, that fairies have come into contact with humans (they are believed to be dangerous and so it is forbidden to interact with them). I am constantly baffled by where this fits in with the timeline of the original film with the technology seemingly placing it right around the same time. This does not hider my enjoyment of these films too much and this film proves to be an interesting adventure with the addition of humans adding a unique twist for the fairies (which then leads to a heartwarming and wonderful conclusion with the relationship between father and daughter fixed with the help of faith, trust, and pixie dust!) I think this film is almost as enjoyable as the previous ending (though sadly Terrance does not feature prominently here but he gets a few appearances at the beginning and the end which keeps me satisfied.) I think The Great Fairy Rescue is well worth watching for fans of this series and is another high point.

Final Rating: 6.5/10
