This is the fourth installment in the Disney’s Fairies film franchise. The first two films were childhood favorites of mine, so I was excited to finally start watching the last three movies. This movie was only given a limited release in the united states to qualify it for awards. despite this the movie looks a lot like an, admitted high quality, direct to DVD film. The premise of this film is Tinker Bell crosses the border into the Winter Woods (where summer fairies, like herself, are forbidden to go) and she meets her winter twin. This interaction causes the two seasons to become out of whack and the sisters, along with their friends, have to join forces to save pixie hollow. I enjoy exploring and learning more about this magical fairy world. It is enchanting filed with likable characters and interesting powers. I do wish we could have spent more time in the Winter Woods with Periwinkle and her friends. I was never really able to connect with her outside of her being Tinker Bell’s sister (though with her personality being so similar to Tinker Bells it might prove uninteresting for anything more than a quick look). She would be an interesting character to explore in her own right and her cool frost powers. Regardless, the movie is charming, it is the soundtrack fits the ‘disney channel vibe’ of the film perfectly and voice acting are great. The plot is fairly predictable, and the dialogue can be too obvious at times, but that is to be expected for a movie targeted towards young children. I still find a lot of enjoyment when watching this film and it is perfect for late night or afternoon viewing.

Final Rating: 5/10
