Hello! My Name is Riel Whittle and I am a current undergrad student at William and Mary majoring in History with a minor in Global Business. II love traveling and exploring other cultures (the picture above is from me in Milan!) and I hope to one day work in the U.S. Foreign Service.

I love everything about movies, the craft, the theater experience, and the community created in support of them. I have a particular affinity for animation (they are for more than just children!) which was the impetus for the creation of this blog. I hope that these reviews might inspire people to check out some of these movies, whether because of their beauty or morbid curiosity and perhaps recapture a feeling of childhood wonder through this wonderful medium.

"Animation can explain whatever the mind of man can conceive. This facility makes it the most versatile and explicit means of communication yet devised for quick mass appreciation."

Onward

Released shortly before the current Pandemic, and thus an unfortunate victim of it as it hindered its success, Onward is a wonderfully creative and heartfelt film. Perhaps Pixar's finest effort yet, it combines magic and brotherly love as two siblings go on a quest to gain one more day with their deceased father. It is currently available on Disney+ and for purchase on other platforms.
