This is the sequel to A Goofy Movie and serves as the finale of the tv show, Goof Troop. Max and friends are heading off to college. Goofy decides to tag along to finish his degree. Roxanne is notably absent from the film. Perhaps she was simple a high school fling, but I find it a glaring absence as I loved her in the first film. Instead, we see Goofy become involved with a love interest, Sylvia Marpole, the college librarian (it is pretty adorable). I feel this movie has extremely similar themes to the first. Goofy embarrassed Max, Max, wants him uninvolved with his like and to stop treating him like a kid, they eventually make up and Goofy helps Max out with a problem, in this case winning an X-Games type competition against Gamma Mu Mu, a fraternity on campus. The animation style is slightly different than its predecessor, owing to its direct-to-tv nature, but it is still good (one of the better transitions from theater to television). The plot is predictable but Max and Goofy are such great characters and their relationship so sweet that I ended up liking it. An Extremely Goofy Movie is perfect for college bound kids and their parents. While it does not have the catchy songs of the original, I still recommend watching it.
Final rating: 6/10
