This film was pure propaganda with the message of the importance of air power during wartime. It showed the evolution of aviation starting with the wright brothers around the turn of the twentieth century and ending with its use during World War II. The film was almost entirely animated save from a few appearances from a Russian-American professor who wrote the book from which this film is based on. It is a fascinating picture of what people thought air power could be from a time when it was still in its relative infancy. The animation is done in almost a diagram, semi-realistic style which was incredibly unique for Disney and which I enjoyed. The film could be a bit dry at times, however, as it is purely a historical film and not one with much entertainment value. But it was interesting as a time capsule, encapsulating a time when Disney devoted its entire animation division to the war effort.
