Melody Time (May 27, 1948)

Sticking with the theme of this period of Disney Animation history, this is yet another package film and another popular music version of Fantasia like Make Music Mine. It is comprised of 7 shorts some more enjoyable than others but overall enjoyable. My favorites of this bunch are Once Upon a Wintertime, The legend of Johnny Appleseed, and Little Toot. I would say this collection is on par with Make Music Mine in every way. There is not much more to say about this package. It is short and sweet with a few catchy tunes and sweet stories. It is worth a watch eventually, but it should not be high on one’s list of classic Disney films. It is an important product of its time as its release helped keep Disney Animation alive.
