This film was a follow up to Saludos Amigos as well as another package film. Again, it was made as a part of the studio’s good will message for South America. This film contained seven segments; the segments are connected by the story of Donald Duck’s birthday and he receives three presents from three friends from Latin America. Those presents are a film projector, a book, and a piñata. The film is short with colorful visuals as well as another appearance from Jose (a new favorite character of mine!) The story itself, however, is incoherent and frankly unnecessary. Examining the shorts separately, I enjoyed them more than the ones in Saludos Amigos and it was overall an entertaining watch. They displayed interesting aspects of Latin American in an easy to understand way, it is one of the better package films from the decade and is fine for a quick viewing.
Final Rating: 5.5/10
