This movie is based on Charles M. Schulz's comic strip, Peanuts and is produced by Blue Sky Studios. It is the fifth full-length Peanuts film, and the first in 35 years. The film sees Charlie Brown trying to improve his odds with the Little Red-Haired Girl, while Snoopy writes a book about the World War I Flying Ace as he imagines himself as a legend trying to save his love interest and fellow pilot Fifi from the Red Baron and his army. It has such a charming animation style, a modern 3D animated take on the classic and beloved comic; It perfectly encapsulates the original’s spirit. The movie itself is short and sweet, with a runtime of approximately 80 minutes, but it uses those minutes well, telling an adorable story of childhood crushes interspersed with the daring tales of Snoopy the Flying Ace trying to defeat the dastardly Red Baron. The orchestral soundtrack combined with old Peanuts favorites and some great new additions (“Better When I’m Dancin’” was stuck in my head for days after I first listened). There is not much more I can say. Charlie Brown is such an iconic character along with his faithful dog, Snoopy, and the rest of his classmates, and The Peanuts Movie truly does them justice. If you are a Peanuts fan or just love children’s animation this sweet movie is perfect and has something for everyone. It is truly a joy to behold.

Final Rating: 10/10
