This is the fourth feature film in the Winnie the Pooh Franchise. The story is about misconceptions and prejudices built on a lack of knowledge. The story is Pooh and the gang are searching for a Heffalump whom they believe is a ferocious monster but whom they have never met. They forbid Roo from coming because he is too young. He decides to search on his own and successfully finds and befriends one learning that they are not monsters at all. The Heffalump, named Lumpy, also believes that Roo’s friends are monstrous creatures because he has never seen them. I found this story sweet and it teaches an important lesson to children, albeit not a groundbreaking one. On the topic of animation, I actually like its style in this movie because I find it more charming than the past two movies, but perhaps I merely have gotten used to it. Expounding upon this, the characters are still a bit took neat and sharp looking for me, but the backgrounds evoke the storybook setting of its source material. Regarding Characters, Kanga and Mrs Heffalump are my favorite because they are lovable and such great mothers; they truly steal the show. The rest of the characters are fine but are not very likable as the plot demands them to be closed minded. I believe this movie is the best of the 2000s era films so far, though not perfect, and is well worth watching if you have kids or simply love Winnie the Pooh.
Final Rating: 6.5/10
